How this calculator works
CELPIP reports levels for each skill (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking) and does not issue an official overall score. This tool shows two planning-focused views:
- Average — mean of the four section levels, rounded to the nearest whole number. Useful for tracking overall progress.
- IRCC benchmark — the lowest of your four section levels. This is what Canadian immigration (Express Entry, PNP) uses for eligibility and CRS points.
- Input: 4 section levels (1–12).
